Baptist Convention of Kenya Vision is to reach out to all unreached people in Kenya and beyond,

making them disciples for Jesus Christ

(Matthew 28:18-20)

Baptist convention of Kenya (BCOK) exist to unite all Baptist churches in Kenya for a common goal of Christian mission work within the country and beyond.

A. Physical and Spiritual growth.

BCOK have a major role of uniting the churches through Regional, Association and Zonal fellowships. Every fellowship is encouraged to undertake expansion programs pertaining to;

  • Evangelism                                                     Discipleship
  • Worship                                                          Fellowship
  • Church planting and                                      Human needs.

These programs not only increase the number of new members joining our churches but also develop new workers for the ministry.

B.  Capacity Building

The BCOK work with partners and the stakeholders so as to build the capacity of the ministry workers. These include the pastors, Evangelists, Teachers, doctors, managers, men, women, youth and Sunday school teachers . We have more than 3000 churches spreading all over the country.

BCOK organize seminars, workshops, conventions, conferences, crusades and short courses in our seminary, Bible school and in Mount Meru University in Tanzania and Kenya Baptist Theological College in Limuru Kenya for the purpose

What we continue to do

E.Human Needs Intervention

Due to global warming and unpredictable climatic changes, our people in particular Arid and semi arid areas have been affected directly by these changes.

They have been affected by draught, floods, diseases, epidemic, malnutrition and high illiteracy in the nomadic Regions.

The BCOKS partners have been assisting in provision of physical and Spiritual food to the victims by drilling of boreholes to the arid regions. Building of shelters to the (IDP) internally displaced persons and providing seeds and animals to the draughts victims.

F. Fostering Partnership

BCOK encourage people of good faith to join us in promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ and also to meet some of the basic need of our people.

G.Areas one can partner with us includes:

1.Feeding the poor with relief food and clothing’s.

2.Feeding our orphanage home at Baptist children centre, Nairobi – Maili Saba

3.Help in drilling of boreholes and water pans in semi-arid and in arid areas.

4.Sponsoring our pastors and ministry leaders for a higher learning at KBTC and MMU.

5.Assist in building a conference centre in Nairobi, Mombasa and in Kisumu.

6.Help in reaching out to the Muslims in North Eastern and Coast region of the country.

7. Provide and sponsor internship programmes for the pastors and the church leaders.

8.Help expand Kenya Baptist theological college to accommodate more students and to sponsor KBTC lectures for higher learning.

9.Assist in church planting to the unreached communities.

10. Provide Bibles to our churches

What We Do

Economic Empowerment

We know that when our members are empowered our churches will also grow and will be able to touch other peoples’ lives both within and around the church.

BCOK have been asking churches to unite and start FOSA, and SACCO’S which can be used as engines of our member’s empowerment.

We also partner with the government and non-government agencies in the promotion of education, Health and general welfare of our people.

D. Regional Integration

BCOK have partnered with other Baptist churches in the Region to promote evangelism and education in this Region. e.g. The Tanzanian Baptist convention and the Ugandan Baptist union have partnered with the Baptist convention Kenya to build the Mount Meru University which provide higher quality education to the people of East Africa Region.

The department of men and women has joined together with their brothers in the Region to form E.A Baptist men fellowship and the E.A women fellowship.

These fellowships have been benefiting our men and women from the common exchange programmes which they have been sharing.
